Application process
Using the application form applicants submit a proposal of no more than 750 words outlining
• The quality of your work and how it is understood as jazz
• A description of your project, including collaborators, timeline and anticipated costs
• The impact you expect the project will have on your career
Applicants should include links to two audio examples of their work
Applicants can also include 3 letters of support
Applicants should indicate details of their proposed performance if selected as a finalist.(eg solo; with others; how many others)
Assessment process
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of artistic peers and assessed based on
• Artistic merit
The panel will consider your achievements, any recoginition you have recieved and the quality and originality of your support material.
• Viability of the project
Is the project achievable? Who else are you working with? What is Involved? How long do you think it will take? How much do you think it will cost?
• Impact on career
What will you have achieved when the project has finished?
Three applicants will be shortlisted
Shortlisted applicants will be notified by September 30, 2025
The shortlisted applicants will perform at a public concert on November 22 in Sydney.
Performance fees and travel costs will be provided. For more details see FAQs.
The successful applicant will be announced at the performance.
Eligibility
Applicants must be individuals
• under 35 years old
• Australian citizens or permanent residents
• available to perform at the finalists event on November 22 in Sydney.
